Angela, the heart of this one-woman operation, manages to produce, market, and sell her handmade creations while being an art teacher and raising a family (whom you get to learn about through her shop’s Instagram stories.) Nonetheless, she continues to push herself as an artist by trying new polymer clay techniques that transform her earrings into marble, geodes, stained glass, and more. I mean, come on, translucent clay? I never thought that was possible!
Now 2021, WJCO has evolved where Angela can host giveaways, sales, and virtual polymer clay tutorials, along with launching entire collections. If you live within the Birmingham area, you can find a WJCO pop-up shop in local markets.
For anyone new to clay jewelry, baked polymer clay is incredibly lightweight and sturdy. Warm temperatures will not re-soften the clay. WJCO uses hypoallergenic and nickel-free materials. The website also includes care instructions, although you most likely won’t need them.
Angela holds WJCO to very high standards beyond product quality. Her shop collaborates and promotes other small businesses within her area. She donates proceeds to various nonprofits. She even saves old clay to turn into abstract prints to avoid throwing anything away. We love a mindful CEO!

I learned about Woodlawn Jewelry Co by stumbling upon her shop’s Instagram account in 2020. (Don’t ask me to specify because in quarantine all the months blend together.) At the time, she was hosting a giveaway to win 13 pairs of earrings…and I won! As a YouTuber who loves to post hauls and unboxings, I was ecstatic to be handed free content. But once I had the clay jewelry to see and touch, I was hooked. They inspired me to get my own polymer clay kit!
